چکیده

Phonon engineering focuses on heat transport modulation in atomic-scale. Different from reported methods, it is shown that electric field can also modulate ferroelectric polymers, poly(vinylidene fluoride), by both simulation and measurement. Interestingly, the thermal conductivities of fluoride) array be enhanced a factor 3.25 along polarization direction simulation. The semi-crystalline film 1.5 which mechanism analyzed morphology phonon properties. It found enhancement arises higher inter-chain lattice order, stronger interaction, group velocity suppressed scattering. This study offers new strategy with quick response without fillers. Poled field, conductivity (PVDF) increased, proved simulations experiments. brand to conductivity. • A polymer proposed proved. Thermal modulated sacrificing other mechanical Modulation situ, flexible control, low energy consumption. detailed analysis presented.

Thermal Stability and Magnetic Properties of Polyvinylidene Fluoride/Magnetite Nanocomposites

This work describes the thermal stability and magnetic properties of polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF)/magnetite nanocomposites fabricated using the solution mixing technique. The image of transmission electron microscopy for PVDF/magnetite nanocomposites reveals that the 13 nm magnetite nanoparticles are well distributed in PVDF matrix. The electroactive β-phase and piezoelectric responses of PVD...

Terahertz Plasmonic Field-Induced Conductivity Modulation in Gold

We report the observation of terahertz (THz) electric field induced conductivity modulation in sub-wavelength gold plasmonic media. Through all-THz pump-probe time-resolved transmission spectroscopy, we demonstrate that the presence of induced surface charges influences near-field mediated light propagation. The phenomenon is ascribed to the enhanced metal conductivity due to enhanced surface d...

Imaging electric conductivity and conductivity anisotropy via eddy currents induced by pulsed field gradients

PURPOSE: The capacity to measure conductivity and conductivity anisotropy in vivo and non-invasively has practical significance in a number of biomedical applications. For example, large changes of tissue conductivity have been reported in tumors, strokes and myocardial infarction. Considerable early efforts were focused on the measurement of injected low-frequency currents (1-3). Electric prop...
